1. Knit For Food Knit-a-thon 2022
  1. Knit for Food Knit-a-thon is a 12 hour knitting marathon to raise funds and awareness for food insecurity. The money we raise will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.
  2. The knit-a-thon will take place virtually on February 12th, from 10am-10pm. There will be some programming throughout the day (music, speakers, breakout knitting rooms, yoga, stretching, knitting ergonomics, etc.). We’ll hear from each of the four organizations that we’re fundraising for to learn more about the work they’re doing. There is a $100 fundraising minimum to attend the zoom. More details will be coming along with a schedule closer to the event! The zoom programming is completely optional! You could stay home on your own, get together with another knitter, or gather with a group of crafty friends at your LYS and stay offline. The choice is completely yours.
  3. The Crafty Zen has a team. Sher of MeditativeCrafting and I are heading up this team. I will be opening up a group event on Discord. You are more than welcome to join in the chat and knit/craft along. Just let me know soon-ish so I can give you permissions to do so on that group. I’m still looking into doing the same on the FB group. Please let me know if you’d be interested in joining. I’d LOVE to have you!!!

  1. Knitting the Progression Shawl by Carin Risinger (Rav Link: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/progression-shawl-2) or Crochet the Quick & Simple Granny Shawl by Hannah Owens https://notyouraveragecrochet.com/).
  2. (Using any Pride colorway (including, but not exclusively Rainbow, Gender Fluid, Intersex, Trans colorways, etc.)
  3. If you knit/crochet/stitch/diamond paint ANY Pride flag, it will count. (Using blocks of color to represent the flags in a shawl or other items DO count)
  4. Using a pattern with the word “Pride” or “Proud” in it counts as well. Please include the name of the design, the designer, and a link (if you can’t find one other than to Rav, that’ll be fine…)
  5. You will get double entries if you knit the Progression Shawl with a Pride colorway or making a Pride Flag while knitting the Progression Shawl.
  6. You will also get double entries if you crochet the Quick & Simple Granny Shawl with a Pride colorway or making a Pride Flag while crocheting the Quick & Simple Granny Shawl.
  7. Anything with rainbows in it will count as well.
